Some customers came to us and said they wanted prepaid water smart meters with SIM cards. However, after in-depth communication, we found that they mistakenly thought that prepaid water smart meters came with SIM cards. But the fact is that the basic technology used in prepaid water smart meters is STS (the Standard Transfer Specification), it is a secure message system for carrying information between a point-of-sale and a smart meter, and this information carrying process does not require the use of the Internet, instead, the water sales point encrypts the water sales information to generate a 20-digit key (TOKEN) and hands it to the user. The user then input the TOKEN via the keypad on the water smart meter to complete recharging the water smart meter. A SIM card is only needed when the water smart meter needs to use the remote smart meter reading function or remote management function.
