The DDSY168-S adopts 433mHz-470mHz radio frequency and LoRa wireless communication for split type connection with customer interface unit (CIU), a keypad based display installed within customer's premise, while at the same time, the MCU, metering control unit, or the main meter, is installed away from customer. This wireless split type setup offers low power consumption communication between MCU and CIU and thus a feasible fraud / tamper protection by separating meters away from the customer. A utility and service provider can read the meter and inspect the connection with no need to entering customer's home.
The meter as STS compliant, allows the service provider to make various setting with the meter, such as emergency credit, power limit, low credit warning levle, debt collection policy, etc. This flexible setting makes the meter an effective and effcient revenue protection device.
LoRa is a long range low power consumption wireless communication technology. The distance in between MCU and CIU can be upto 1 mile. This non-wired solution offers even greater convenience for fraud protection and lower cost of customer management.
