A CA368 and a customer interface unit (CIU) together make the CA368-S, a four-wire, 100-amp per phase, split-type keypad-based prepayment meter. The meter is finished in a compact BS footprint enclosure. It is ideal for residential homes, commercial and light industrial applications.
The CIU is installed within the customer's premises and the main meter is usually locked away from consumers' premises in a kiosk, cabinet, or meter box on the pavement or mounted on a pole. The main meter communicates with the CIU via Power Line Carrier, Radio Frequency, or LoRa, a low-power consumption wireless technology. This non-wired split feature makes the meter immune to most tampers and facilitates quick and easy inspection by utility or service providers with no need to visit consumers.
The CA368-S also communicates with a back-end central server through wireless communication for AMR AMI functionalities. It is an ideal all-in-one revenue protection device for utility and service providers.
