The PLC-G3 communication is added to the CA168-C, enabling it to be connected to an AMR/ AMM/AMI back end server for smart metering features such as real-time data readout, load management, remote tariff setting, load control by disconnection / reconnection,etc. The meter is a  single phase two wires 60 Amp per phase card type prepayment electric meter that combines STS standards  with 3DES security encryption technology. The meter is manufactured by IEC 62052-11, IEC62053-21 metrology criteria and ISO9001 standards, an integration of high precision technology and high quality standard. It supports flexible tariff plans on TOU (Time of Use) basis. 

The meter is built with 13kV / 6.5kA Varistor providing surge protection agaisnt lightening and other line surges. Switch mode power supply (SMPS) option is also available ,allowing the meter to work with voltage down to 80V , good for African continent where brownouts and voltage dip is very frequent.
